CABS seminars: outline programme 2011
We are now half-way through the 2011 series of Careers After Biological Science seminars. As usual we have tried to cover a diverse range of potential jobs, both “Careers in Science” (i.e. typically ‘science-y’ roles) and “Careers from Science” (i.e. jobs where a scientific training will be very useful although the scientific element may not be overt).
Materials relating to the first 5 talks will appear on this site in due course. The second session is taking place in Bennett LT1 from 2 to 5 pm on 16th February 2011. The programme is as follows:
These seminars are intended to raise your awareness of possible careers and you are therefore strongly encouraged to attend even if the talks are not covering “the job” that you want to do. Speakers will not only discuss their current role but also offer general advice on the application process so I’m sure everyone will get something valuable from attending.
February 16th: working for a students’ union, environmental consultancy, nursing, science communication pharmaceutical industry.
A number of other jobs have been covered in the previous four years of CABS talks – see the list to the right hand side of this page for details.
It is not necessary to register to attend these events, but we intend to offer tea and coffee at some point in the afternoon so if you would like some light refreshment, please email Dr Willmott to let him know.
